Blue Earth Day Inc is a non-profit organisation that holds an eco-sustainable event once a year under banner of the Blue Earth Day Festival.   The 2008 inaugural event was held on 24 May at Tumbalong Park Darling Harbour  where this popular festival hot spot was transformed into a working example of urban sustainable living.  

Featured throughout the day of the inaugural event were eco-workshops showcasing home composting, sustainable superannuation, organic cafe, recycled arts and crafts, home sustainability experts answering those tricky questions, interactive eco-gadgets, solar powered displays, roving performers, kids entertainment, face painting and even an eco-wine bar stocked with one of Australia’s best organic produced wines.

One of the successes of the 2008 event was not only the event powered by green energy, including solar energy on site, is that all rubbish collected at the end of the day filled only one green otto bin of land fill.  Everything else was recycled and composted on site throughout the day.  

Blue Earth Day Inc and its event partners, October Sun Enterprises and PBJ Entertainment, wish to thank all the 2008 Festival supporters, volunteers and the approx 5000 people that attended throughout the day.
